I’ve never seen an apple tree in my life. But, unknowingly, I have consumed so many of the fruits which first made Man make a decision. It seemed pretty easy to walk into a supermarket and pick the fruit off the shelf and pack them in a bag rather then having to go through the arduous of looking, climbing and plucking. I’m assuming that, that’s how people pick them. It seemed simple enough to savor the fruits and even easier to say if I liked green or red ones, or to realized it has turned bad. But I didn’t need to explain. I like apples. Red ones.

Green ones. They aren’t sweet.

But now, I’m eating them.

I’ve never said that I disliked them but I just preferred red ones. I guess it’s one of those days that you decide that perhaps something fresh would do you good. So I bought green ones.

First bite. It’s sweet.

Second bite. It’s not sweet.

Third bite. It’s still not sweet.

Fourth bite. I kind of like it when it’s not sweet. It leaves a strange aftertaste that makes your cheeks tingle and for a very brief moment you can’t seem to see.

And after you finish, it tastes just like the red ones even though it’s not there anymore.

So I started buying green ones.

For the first-timers, here's some stuff u'll need to bring:

- 3-4 sets of change(shorts/broadshorts/singlet/underwear/sleevless)

- bring trunks or what to get wet in if we go beach

- Sunblock

- Caps

- Toileteries

- Fishing Rods (if u have. Don't have can rent)

- Jacket or Pullover (at night it can get quite cold)

- Sandals and Slippers

- Medication

Other then that, just bring whatever stuff u think will make the trip super fun.

Things we will be doing:

- Play dumb games

- Sing Song (yes sing song, cos bryan bringing guitar according to SJ)

- Go beach

- Watch EPL or UCL if there are matches

Things we will NOT be doing:

- Shopping (it's a KELONG for crying out loud so don't ask me where the shopping centre is or what to buy there)

- Studying (it's after exams, so don't bring your books there to study. i will throw them into the sea.)

- Having hot water baths (no hot water. suck it up and freeze....)

- Sleeping alot (ok can sleep but if u go there keep sleeping, i will spash u with sea water. u wun want to be splashed with kelong sea water...)

The maggot has finally decided to speak up again!~

So what has happened over the last 2 months of worming around?

- I realised I still don't like studying, mugging.
- There are more needy pple then me.
- I don't like driving.
- Talkin to my dad is is not talkin to my dad. (this sounds weird but it's like that)
- I don't understand women as much as I'ld like to think that I do.
- I want to go and fish.

There's something wrong with my study methods. Either that or the prof really got a weird marking scheme. There was absolutely no way I could have gotten 6/20 for the test...

I guess it's back to the drawing board...

Anyway, I glad the week's over and most of the assignments are nearly done. Only thing left is the tests and getting GESL done up.

Sorry guys that I couldnt make it for the Shiraz Gathering but there will be a next time. I was busy putting my knee to the test. It's now pretty sore, but I'm glad it isn't hurting. Going to try playing games next week so wish me luck!!!

Lesson of the Day:
If it hurts, don't touch it. If doesn't don't touch it either.

It's been a week since i found out that there's a hole the size of a ten-cent coin in my cartilage. So that means no more high jump for me. Something thats been part of my life for the last 16 years. Gosh... I'm not super upset... but it really makes me think about how much high jump has changed me, what it has given me and what it has taken away from me.

The greatest lesson i believe i have learnt from it all is that - We have the ability to make choices. Some of which i can remember include....

Choice of whether to join track or NCC in sec 1
Choice whether to still 3rd language or quit for more training time
Choice of whether to go Japan on holiday or go ASEAN school
Choice of whether to go VJ or carry on in HC
Choice of whether or not to chao geng in commondos to continue high jump
Choice of whether to quit it altogether

It shaped my life and I'm where I am now because of this extraordinary gift from God. Not the guy that people won't want to have in their telematch in P3 anymore ever since i got it. And it's still part of my life now, but in a very different form. I'm now a teacher, a coach and a mentor. Basically I'm a story teller who tells children about the choices I made.

I just read my fren's blog. She seems upset. I hope she feel better soon. Dunno why she's feeling down and all about jumping, but I just know one thing for sure...

Don't live for your achievements or title which is history. Live for yourself and your loved ones and run a good race for God.

For my first blog after eons of silence. I've got pics from the last min JB dinner!

So much for all the efforts in gettin to JB just for a 40mins dinner! But it was gr8!!! After enduring squeezy bus rides, SUPER GUAI LAN CUSTOM OFFICERS, and lousy taxi drivers (see below...)... We came, we saw and we conquered! Super full! Plus the goldfish eyed uncle gave us 2 complimentary coconut pudding! Power!

First of all, I just wanna thank God that Jacob's all right! He's awake and is very much himself! Yey~!!~ Only difference is that he's a walking irrigation system with a pump in his head. Sad part is that he can't do high jump anymore, and if he had actually continued with jumping, the darn cyst in his head would have just detonated. Yeesh~

Other then that, I'm just happy to spend my xmas eve night nuah-ing at home.

Training on Xmas wasnt exactly what I had in mind but i still decided to carry one with the training session since the everyone was ok with the idea. But I have jus 1 thing to say to yiyun! next time u're hungry, dun give me a scare like that?!?!?!?!? (*and no McDonalds!!!!?!?)

Lastly, shopping today was gr8! and it culminated with Shengx, Bei Bei and me finally nuah-ing at Starbucks with trying out the games i bought after i dragged them all over the place to check out the children stuffs.

Track Chalet Xmas...

End of yet another week of December hols. Highlight of the week is prob the track chalet which wasnt exactly that exciting, since most of the gers decided that under the comforts of their own blankies and pillows is better then squeezing into the tiny confines of the east coast chalet.

Nevertheless the boys and the throws gers still stayed one night and we jus talked cock and nuah thru the night, freezing and appreciating the symphony of snores and mumbles from our very own makeshift choir ensemble.

Yz, and the throw gers left the next day an we spent the rest of the day jus bumming around, snacking, watching movies, playing arcade and appreciating the sights and scenery. My little take from our rover rounds was that:

What's with the "little miss XXXXXXXX" tee? That the new in thing for gers? I'm sure tzexiong will agree with me that its getting a little irritating seeing that shirt every 100m we walk.
And, secondly, if u aint got the legs, dun rollerblade around with short white skirt, with a white bag, with a jack russel.

Other then that, we had a relatively peaceful nite, since it was jus 1 to a bed. Shaojie, Tzexiong, Tai Hao and me. Continental breakfast for both mornings and we checked out. TRACKERS BETTER REMEMBER TO GIVE SHAOJIE BACK HIS BBQ MONEY!!!!!!!!

There!!!! I feel better. Lotsa stuffs passed over the last month since my last post. Sports Quiz and Sports Pursuit planning, the mad rush to clear Napfa test, birthdays and gatherings, the teacher's day skit (yay it's over!!!) and not to mention the one week holiday! (wheee~~~!!!!) And in a blink of an eye, this term break is almost over. The one thing that i managed to get outta this holiday is that, I have to set my mind on something and follow it thru. Too long have i let the past drag me down. No longer am i gonna just wait for myself to be ready, cos I'll never ever be. If God wants me to go, I'm gonna depend on his strength and do things thru him! Yups!!!!

Taught the kids at Sunday School a new song called (Are U Gonna) Sit Down! And they actually danced and sang along without me asking them do do it!!!! Whee!!!!!!!!!!!

The rest of the day was spent reading! Never had so much time to read in a while and i'm thankful for that too!!!

Now for one more week of national schools, convocation stuffs and preparations to start teaching...

Today concludes most of the finals for national schools for primary school. and my throat finally gets to have a rest. Phew... And I'm really proud of every1 for the effort they put in. Firstly, congrats to my jumpers for their efforts! And the honor role goes like this!

Back from ICT and National Schools for Primary School! and my comp's down....

Ritey... finally i get a chance to write something... all thanks to my comp being down and all... ugh

Firstly, ICT was fun!!!! except for the following stuffs:

1)I kena ropeburn... (OUCH!)
2)RSAF Pilots arent really that reliable... (choppers that break down and choppers that lift off when we're coming down!!!!)
3) The uniform is still a walking heater
4) We must sew new badges and it cost a bomb!!!!

But all and all i really enjoyed the getogether with everyone! The little pinic with Tanzy, Hocklye, Jack, Shaoqi and Vincent was gr8 too!!!! And that i finally fight mission for the first time since our first Falcon series after we turned ops! (FIVE YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!) Anyway, ICT so far has been pretty boring. Surprising thing is that i managed to stay awake for most of the lessons. The dumbest part has been me forgetting to bring in my PT shoes! Thankfully, Samuel lent me his shoes. But then again, the company's plans for a welcome PT was dashed thanks to CAT1. (*4 coy does it again) And guess what, thanks to tuang's arrow i'm once again doing armskote. and guys.... STOP asking me, "how come you are not in the armskote?" when we are sending arms. I'm now a ARMSKOTE ASSITANT! not Armskoteman!

Righty... now from where i left off...

16th May

It's still raining in Lijiang!!!! ugh... but we still decided to go on for our horsey ride up Yu1 Long2 Xue3 Shan1! 380 Yuan!!! Damn wet and sucky siah. Not that it wasnt fun but shux, we were freezing our arse off and we din get to see a thing thanks to the rain, fog and mist. Think everyone was just wishing all the rain would just go away...

I was quite thankful that my horse (Xiao3 Zhou1) was relatively tame. Besides its incesstant need to eat, drink, pee, shit and fart(yes, it farted ALOT), the ride was quite fun. Wenshun's horse tried to run away and i think that took whatever fun that was left on his horse ride.

At night, we managed to really torture ourselves by walkin out in berms and slippers. Siaoz... Everyone was giving us those weird "are u a looney?" look. I mean, i'ld i think i was outta mind mind walkin around in flipflops in the cold. Of course, we were like totally drenched, and thankfully for the presence of the washer lady we were able to get our stuffs washed and dried out. And, she roasted my gloves!!!! Holes!!!

17th May

We decided to check out the town today, and guess what... SUN!!! and we got about posting our postcards which would probably only reach singapore when we get back. Wenshun and i then found this little wet market on our way to buy the bus tickets. We checked out the market and pigged out on a bunch of buns and stuffs. After that, we decided to look around the the old city, this time without the rain. We missed the chance to enter the MU residence which was the home of some rebel leader. DAMN... We could have gotten a good view of the entire old city of Lijiang if we had gotten in!

Dinner was great! We went back to the place where we had lunch on the first day in Lijiang. And i had fried dragonflies! yummy! dunno y u guys dun like it. only wanjun shares the same sentiments as i do! y the agony face????

oh yar... almost broke ler... had to borrow money from ernest... =(

18th May

We set off from the now bright and sunny Lijiang to Zhongdian, which is better known to the outside world as Shangrila! The bus ride took 5 hours. Nothing much on the bus trip cept for the dumb a*** who was like smoking all the way! Idiot! When we got to Shangrila we managed to find a guide really quick! His name's Pichu! (eh... i cant rememeber the first part of his name...) He found us a nice little place to stay and we were quickly on our way to Napa Sea to look at the plains. BAD IDEA. it was another horse ride... which we jus moved about on the plains. And we din take up the idea to move another 100m jus to see some Yaks...

After that, we went on to TianSheng Bridge. This was the first place on the trip that i really made me go WAAHH!!! yeaps. A naturally formed stone bridge as a result of geysers and steam from the ground. Before we went to check out the bridge and its surroundings, we went down to the valley to check out the steam baths and stuffs. That's where ernest and wanjun decided to have a little dip for their feet. The rest of us passed on it... low on funds... =(

The view from the "bridge" was breathtaking!!!! Not gonna spend time describing it... when i get my pictures up then u all see it!!!!

In the evening, pichu got us back, and the bunch of us went off looking for dinner! We managed to find this gigantic mass dance session which we all joined in!!! Damn cool siah!!! Danced for quite a while b4 we went off looking for dinner!!! then its back to our dorm...

oh yar, and ernest managed to finish up the gigantic pack of potato chips... and kena kan3 by the gers...

18th May

ritey... spent the whole day out on the road to explore Bai2 Shui3 Tai2. Damn nice place. and yet another breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. It's got this bunch of places for praying for differnet stuffs. At the top of this natural spring cum limestone formation's this little pool which was crystal clear! Yes, i'll post the pics up when i get the chance.

Yups, and we just had dinner and im here bloggin down as much as i can what happened in the last few days... or dunno when got chance again!

Kunming to Lijiang

Am now in Lijiang, but the comp's a little screwe so unable to upload pics....

It's rainin and rainin here! Shux... thought i left all that behind in Singapore. Geezes... Only managed to go to dian1 chi2 when we were in Kunming. The list of stuffs we managed to do though include:

no more school... after 25years, im no longer gonna be a student. officially, and totally adult now, even though my mind remains 20... or younger. and... guess what, the first thing i wanted to do after i finish that last paper was to.... PEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! the blardy exam hall was so cold i thought i was definitely gonna have stones in my bladder!

the good thing is that after all that, i can finally sit down and think, what do i want now...

still tryin to get that picture clear, but i do know that, one of the few thing that i do want to get done, will still be out there hangin. becos.. even though it's one of the first thing on my mind, it may not even be the last thing on someone's mind...

i'll keep going... leave it to God to get me there. i trust Him.

despite my whole nite of isomnia fearin that somethin bad will happen, nothin disastrous actually happened! and the afternoon was great! shengx jumped 1.51 and tammy did 1.40!!! ~woots! haha. damn happy for them. especially for shengx, since she has been emo-ing for so long bout her jumps. and tammy, who i t hink din exactly sleep well. really wanna give u 2 a BIG HUG!!!

can't believe i'm actually doing this... alrite. this is for u kids. since u keep asking how, why, and what the cards are and blah blah blah. >.<> Meanings of other cards:

King and Queen of Clubs - Guy's Parents
King and Queen of Diamonds - Ger's Parents
Queen of Spades - Guy's significant other half/gf/wateva
King of Hearts - Ger's significant other half/bf/wateva
Jacks - Other parties involved (e.g. rivals, gossip-mongers, etc....)
Remaining Cards - Various problems and obstacles. Number represent seriousness or how great the obstacle is. The larger the number the greater the obstacle.
Cards that are black (clubs and spades) represent stuffs associated with the guy
Cards that are red (diamonds and hearts) represent stuffs associated with the ger

Steps to follow:

Get the person to (really really) think hard about the person in mind and shuffle his/her age. (nothing fanciful, jus your normal shuffle)
Place the cards on a flat surface and separate into 4 decks for the first round.
Refer to Sub-Step A, Repeat for all 4 decks
Repeat Step 1 and place the cards on a flat surface and separate into 3 decks for the first round.
Refer to Sub-Step A, Repeat for all 3 decks
Repeat Step 1 and place the cards on a flat surface and separate into 2 decks for the first round.
Refer to Sub-Step A, Repeat for both decks
Repeat Step 1 and place the cards on a flat surface begin removing the bottom-most card. Stop when any of the key cards show up. Discard removed cards.
At the end of it, if u open the final remaining deck, you'll get this...

Sub Step A:

Pick up one of the decks
Begin removing cards from the top.
Stop when any of the key cards show up.
Discard removed card
Return key card and the remaining cards back onto the table
Do the same for the other decks
Upon completion stack the cards from top to bottom in the order of 1st deck, 2nd deck, 3rd....
Continue with next step in the guide
p/s: if the key card does not show up at all, entire deck is discarded!

The trip was grrrrr8! Pretty much let me get away from all the nonsense and tons of probs that's been irritating me all this while. And got to know the kids better plus a whole bunch of new frens! Wun have to refer to u guys as "the teachers" anymore, cos, frankly... i dun think i really bothered much about remembering everyone else's name before going for the trip. Oh yar, the Mao3 Mao2 game was good rite????

The kids were fun and as usual, up to their nonsense and crappy selves. i guess my present to them on the trip was the "fortune telling" thingee which seemed to work quite well with most of 'em. (esp for jiayun and maya... rite gers?) ~lol Oh yar! And LUCAS!!!! Whole trip keep trying to tickle me, steal my hammock,lightsticks and cheezels!!!!!!!!!! Ugh.

Somehow, i kinda learnt something in this trip. That, there's more then one way to teach lessons in life to pple. And, this kelong trip best sums up an entire 2months of learning for me.

I've actually be struggling with the fact i'm gonna NOT be a student anymore and that i dun want to grow up. But now, i feel that it isnt so bad to grow up, and i dun have to throw away the inner child in me. Difference is that now i have to remember that i'm now a BIG KID NOW (*this is from the toys 'r us song!). Especially if i'm gonna be a teacher. Teaching is definitely not like coaching. How different it really is, im gonna find out in july! =)

Back to the fishing and kelong stuffs... I love the beach!!!!!! OMG. hehe. it was really nice. The kids had fun on the waves and shengx and i got about hunting crabs! And guess what? I managed to see crabs having... (*ahem) "fun". I did have lotsa fun chasing the crabs with shengx. Although, it was quite silly running after them. On the second day, we somehow managed to get the rest involved in our crab hunt!

Oh yar, as much as this was meant to be a fishing trip, i only got to fish on the last night! when everyone else was sleeping! haha. shengx and i learnt how to cast the fishing line thanks to thomas. And i managed to get 3! Shengx only got 1! ~haha. I win!!!

geez... i dun wanna grow up... i mean... at least i want to still have student meals! So many things seem to be hanging over me like a blardy big cloud. So many questions left unanswered, or rather... i haven found an answer to them. i still dunno if "somethings" are ever gonna work out. I still dunno if i'll definitely be at where i want to work. I still dunno if i shuld go ahead with some plans. Good thing is that, with this hell lot of time that i have now since FYP ended, I'm finally having time to sort it all out. Well, no bikini-clad waitress walking around but the place was not bad! And it was a really nice little bdae celebration. For a start... I DIN GET WET!!!! Haha. And before i forget! Thanks for the cake guys! Appreciate it. Cos i dun really get to celebrate my bdaes in a group that much. And last year and this year i managed to get by 321 with a fair bit of fun! Thankew!!!!!

Next year must find time to do this again. I promise, i wun drag-ass if we had to kayak again...! And yarps, i think i had more fun squabbling and talkin nonsense. somehow, i did an essay for b-law today and revised the whole buchov stuffs that was like stashed in a corner of my brain. and gosh, i actually did it... have to be honest, it wasnt jus becos im helpful...

it seems like every1 suddenly has a story to tell, and every story seems to the same dark and unhappy ending. inevitably, my mood has sorta been affected a little. its the same old saying, that 'everyone that is in it wants out and whoever's out of that situation wants in'. (just for the record) in my case, i want in, and with all my heart i REALLY TRULY know that i can (r u readin this?), but yarps, gotta wait.

having said that, i jus wanna say to my fren(u know who u r), that u can't expect every1 to be be the same, and there will be times where, there will be less and times when there will be more. here's something from 'Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars'. Martians (men), are task-oriented hunters. Once we finish one thing, we will move on to complete another thing, so dun expect us to stay status co. but this doesn't diminish what we feel. I just means that we cant put all our energy forever at one place.

and yes (another fren), its sad and scary to find that the road that u have chosen eventually leads to a dead-end, or much worse, a 20-ft drop into the sea. but i guess we all come to such situations. i dunno what to say about what u told me bro, but i guess u felt its better to end it now. keep me posted

today? woke up, slacked, coached, dinner w isabel, and then back home to do my stupid GMS stuff. ugh. the high of the day was all the amazing "toys" i found in the new SALT centre at HCI. Yey! i've finally gotten my hands on all those fun stuff miss chan used for training last time!

and amazingly, for the GMS discussion, we actually went on for like 6 hours, starting at like 9pm and ended round 3am. gosh... madness. and yes, i am dying now... after all gym training and then not having enuff to sleep.

Yes yes... my next attempt at maintaining the discipline to run this little wormhole of mine.

Honestly, I think the last 3 months has been like totally me acting like a little runt. Trying to do too many things at a time. Granny's not well, FYP which is really really irritating, worrying bout my students and their jumping and yes... the usual affairs of the heart??? Ugh.

But I think i've finally sorted it out. Nearly in danger becoming an octopus with all my legs tangled, but i guess i cant do it this way lar ha? Time for some control...

I gotta break out of this depression...

And yes... end of another week (yes, no school on friday so my weekend has started). Half a semester just went by and i still feel like the same slacking self i was at the start of it. If there's one thing i learnt about myself in this half a semester is that i'm actually capable of slacking even more...

By the way ah, really sorry for falling asleep in the middle of our CESIM discussion just now guys. But i really wasnt into what you guys were talking about...

Anyway, I've believe i've succeeded in putting everythin in perspective, and at least now, i've got a clearer picture of what i wanna do for the term break and rest of the sem. So much so, that i'm gonna freaking list it down now to make sure i do it!

天才与白痴

I would pretty much like to be a 天才, but geez, i guess somehow most of the time, I end up as the 白痴. Is it becos i try too hard, or think I'm trying damn hard already. Cos its it seems really tiring sometimes to keep trying. Which explains y i felt damn drained out over the week. I really wonder how the astronomers at NASA feel when they send signals in to space when 99.9999999999999999999999999999% of the time they know they'll prob not get any replies from the great infinity and beyond.

I really really wanna know...

2 Weddins and a Funeral

I guess, boredom wasnt the only thing that made me wanna do this blog thingee. I've realised that sometimes, things and events seem to just flash past us in an instant. Much has happened in the past 2 weeks, not to me, but to those around me. Even as i sat in the office, staring at the screen, fighting the Z monster, events were unfolding around me at breakneck pace.

While a senior and a former teammate got married and a junior passed one. And even recently, a friend just told me he's gonna be a dad in 8months. God works in mysterious ways that is realy difficult to understand. He taketh and he giveth. Somehow, though i suddenly felt the need to tell people about what i see and hear.

2 Weddins

First of all, congrats to xinhuan and honliang. Weddin bells are indeed ringing and i guess that starts the ball rolling for some of us (not me lar... still looking). Hopefully, we'll see little pple running around soon.

Passing of one of our own..

And, we say goodbye to one of the dearest and inspiring athletes to have don the colours of Team Hwachong. Goodbye Lena. It was fun training with you and yes, i still remembered the first time i met you on 167 . Cos i only knew who you were from looking at pple compete in the girls division at that time. But yar, it was funny when i met u on the bus and i was wondering whether to say harlow and say nice to have u abroad.

But whereva you are now, i hope you find peace and solace and we'll all miss ya~

And the baby...
